Citizenship and Suffrage Around the World: Kids' Edition. SUNY Polytechnic Institute's "Gender Issues in World History" class (Professor Kristina Boylan) will share their semester-long research comparing citizenship and suffrage struggles in New York State and around the world.

This family friendly program includes creative, interactive stories and activities about these activists and their achievements for children in first grade and up. Free!

The Erie Canal and the Birth of American Religion. Dr. Brent Rodriguez-Plate explores the religious life established by the Erie Canal and its influence on religiosity across the continent and the globe. This illustrated talk explores how the canal cultivated extraordinary experimental spiritual groups and engendered the religiously infused social movements of abolition, women's suffrage, and temperance.
